Chamber acknowledgements

Thanks to all of you who donated items for the victims of Hurricane Michael in southwest Georgia. We were able to ship 10 large boxes of paper goods, garbage bags, baby wipes and toiletries to the Chamber in Pelham, GA.

We are now helping one of our local businesses collect items for area animal shelters and animal rescues. The collection will be now through December 1. Bill Buck with Paws4aWarrior works with several animal centers in Towns, Union and Clay Counties and they are all in need of a variety of items. A large donation box is located at the Towns County Chamber of Commerce.

And, one of our Towns County High School Seniors, Kaitlyn Crowder, is collecting unwanted items for a Happy Holidays Yard Sale that she’ll be having in order to raise money for students who cannot afford yearbooks. This is Kaitlyn’s Senior Project. She has donation boxes at the school for anyone who would like to send items with their child to school as well as a community donation box located at “Ahead of Hair” which is in the shopping center directly across the street from the school. Her yard sale is scheduled for December 1.

Hiawassee Antique Mall is now collecting canned foods and other non-perishables for the Towns County Food Pantry. These items will be used in the Thanksgiving food baskets for those in need.

Thanks for being so generous in your giving. Together we can make a difference!
